Born in Johannesbrug in 1944 but lived most of his life in Fishhoek. Schooled in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe at Hamilton's and worked as a lithographer for seven years. He now resides in KwaZulu-Natal.
Anton's work shows the strong influence of the two most important people in his life; his father, well known artist Johan Oldert whom he emulates and his best friend and mentor Titta Fasciotti, under whose tutorage he spent many years.
Anton has had no formal training as such and being a sensitive artist, he paints because he believes it is good for the soul. Anton concentrates on landscapes, using strong colour, relieved by splashes of light. His work is represented in galleries and private collections throughout South Africa and many overseas countries.
Anton works in oils and is best known as a colourist, producing impressionistic landscapes as well as seascapes and figure studies.
